Yoga with Layla Mazdyasni (Free Virtual Event - Sign Up Required)

To promote relaxation through soothing movement, please join us for a free, special virtual yoga class on Tuesday, July 25th at 6:30pm PT! Reclaim Foundation is hosting this event to provide a communal self-care activity with positive mental health benefits in remembrance of the second anniversary of the 2019 Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting, which was a major factor in the creation of Reclaim Foundation.

The yoga session will be approximately 40 minutes and you are required to complete this sign-up form before receiving the link to the online event: Sign Up Here

This session will be hosted by certified instructor Layla Mazdyasni who specializes in yoga sculpt and vinyasa. This virtual class welcomes all, including beginners and those simply interested in finding a peaceful activity to boost emotional wellness.

There is no fee to attend this event! If you feel inclined to donate to help support Reclaim Foundation in our mission to support those impacted by trauma, please visit reclaimfoundation.org/donate. Donations allow us to host events such as this with valued instructors.

Here is additional information from Layla on her background and teaching style:

I am passionate about strong communities. I grew up as a synchronized figure skater in San Diego, and thrived in the physical practice of the sport. My coaches and teammates were my best friends and biggest inspirations. When I moved away from San Diego, I craved something different, yet similar.

I took my first yoga sculpt class on the recommendation of a friend, and fell in love with the intelligent sequencing and the powerful energy. As I delved into various aspects of yoga, I found myself wanting to open my heart even further. Since, I have completed my 200 Hour Power Yoga Training, and 50 Hour Yoga Sculpt Training .

I believe deeply in respecting and acknowledging the traditions of yoga, and understand that my modern interpretation is a fusion of then and now. I focus my teachings on the physical practice, and am always learning through my body and my mind. I'm excited to have you join me in class!

At Shatter the Glass you will learn more about Reclaim Foundation’s mission of supporting those impacted by trauma and the accomplishments we’ve made since our founding in 2020. You will hear stories of resilience directly from survivors and leave inspired all while having fun at an event that fundraises for an amazing cause. The Reclaim Foundation team looks forward to meeting you in-person on August 11th!

We are hosting a photo challenge as a part of this event where we hope to highlight how people Shatter The Glass on their journey to reclaim their life. We ask participants to take a picture with our Shatter The Glass banner as they participate in an event that challenges them. These challenges of Shattering the Glass can look different depending on the person, where they are with their healing, or how they are impacted by trauma. Some ideas include hiking, reading, going on a walk by yourself, getting out of bed, spending time in the sun, etc. Friends and family of trauma survivors can Shatter The Glass by reading books and resources about trauma, having conversations with their loved ones, or standing alongside their trauma survivor as they Shatter The Glass. All forms of Shattering the Glass are important and equal!

We hope that the Shatter The Glass photo challenge will motivate people to reclaim their life, build resilience, and empower those around them to do the same! How will you Shatter The Glass?
