Denim Day Painting Event

  • Golden Gate Park in front of the Conservatory of Flowers 100 John F Kennedy Drive San Francisco, CA, 94118 United States (map)

Join us for an afternoon of painting in honor of Denim Day!.

This event will be held at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco in front of the Conservatory of Flowers on Saturday, April 22 from 2-4 pm. All painting tools and supplies will be provided, and we encourage you to bring any denim you would like to paint. We will provide canvases to those without an item to paint on. We hope you wear your denim (painted or not!) on Denim Day, April 26.

About Denim Day: Denim Day began as an act of solidarity following an Italian rape case in which the victim was blamed for her rape due to the jeans she was wearing. Denim Day takes place on the last Wednesday of April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This day of action and awareness is an event in which people are encouraged to wear denim to combat victim blaming and educate others about sexual violence. Sign up here!
