Reclaim Network Frequently Asked Questions

  • Survivors - Are individuals directly affected by a traumatic event or series of events, regardless of the type of trauma, duration it lasted, or how long it has been since the trauma(s). Some individuals may consider themselves as a “victim” and not a “survivor”, but at Reclaim Foundation we believe anyone that went through or is currently going through trauma(s), is unequivocally a survivor. These individuals may need emotional support, physical and financial services, information, and more due to the trauma(s).

Impacted - Are individuals that were indirectly affected by a traumatic event or series of events. These individuals may be family and friends of a survivor, community members in the same geographical location as the trauma(s), allies, or more. These people were not in physical proximity or in connection to the source, but have felt the emotional impacts from survivors around them. These individuals may need education to provide support, along with receiving emotional support.
